Hanging baskets, flower beds and urban meadows, across Torbay there are a variety of places where plants and flowers can be found.
As you know, here at TOR2 we work on behalf of Torbay Council to plant around 200,000 plants a year and maintain them to keep them looking fresh and healthy.
But as well as the regular planting that the parks team carry out, there is also various projects that are carried out with the Natural Environment team at Torbay Council. This all may sound interesting to you, but you’re probably wondering what type of projects these could be….
Well we’re here to enlighten you on one of those projects the parks team have been working on recently…
So, back to those friends of ours at the natural environment team, on their behalf members of the parks and open spaces team have spent a few days planting 9000 crocus bulbs on the front bank of Preston house gardens in Paignton, now thats a lot of bulbs.
Obviously you can’t see them yet as they are just bulbs in the ground 😛 But keep your eyes peeled come early spring as that is when they will be in full flower, bringing a lovely colourful addition to to the parks and open spaces of Torbay.
Hope you enjoy the flowers in the spring.
Keep your eyes open 🙂
