Battery Gardens, St Marys Park and Furzeham are just some of the areas in Brixham that the parks and open spaces teams look after.
Keeping them clean, tidy and looking lovely.
But who does it? Meet Dave and Nick, they are two of the members of the parks and open spaces team who look after the lovely area of Brixham, and here is just some of the things they do.
On this particular day the first stop was the Churchill Memorial beds. Dave’s first task was to get the area set up to warn on coming traffic that they were there working.
Once set up Dave and Nick set to work getting bulbs planted. You may not be able to see much yet, but come spring time they will be in full bloom, so if you’re up that way, keep a look out.
When the bulbs were all planted it was over to St Marys park for their next task of the day.
With the windy weather we’ve been having lately the leaves decided it was time to leaf their home in the trees and instead spread themselves across the road.
Nicks job was to blow all the leaves into a pile ready to be collected, and this was not as easy as it may sound, especially when the wind was blowing in the opposite direction!!
Dave then worked using the rake to collect all the piles of leaves together in one corner of the car park.
What did they do with them though I bet you are wondering…. Once all the leaves had been collected in one place they didn’t just leave them there, working hard they picked them up and put them into the bed of their truck ready to be brought back to TOR2 and recycled.
Great work Dave and Nick.
Working to keep Brixham tidy.
