We show you quite a few photos and blog posts of the parks and open spaces teams out and about planting and then photos of the flowers once they are in bloom. But, it is not all about planting…..
This is where Nick comes in, he works for the TOR2 parks and open spaces team and he can tell us more about what him and the rest of the parks and open spaces team gets up to.
The job starts at 7 o’clock in the morning where he arrives to work, gets his vehicle ready and loaded up for the day and from then on it is out they all go to cover their areas of Torbay 🙂
But what is it they get up to during the day? Of course, as we said, there is planting involved, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. There is also looking after the beds to make sure the beds are okay, tending to the shrubs so they are up to standard, cutting the grass, strimming the hedges, raking leaves up, litter picking, emptying bins, blowing leaves and make sure all areas are up to a high standard.
There are 92 parks and open spaces that the parks and open spaces team deal with across Torbay but Nicks role is to mainly work in Brigham, which includes Battery, St Marys and Furzeham.
Nick is our TOR2 hero for keeping the parks and open spaces looking lovely.
