Well hello there. Thank you for coming to check out my latest blog. I just know you are going to be floored by its brilliance 😛
What do I have for you this week? Something that may surprise you really, as I won’t be banging on about recycling, instead I am going to tell you all about something super exciting……You’ve had a lovely day walking around town but now you are finding yourself needing the loo…but what do you do? Chances are you will pop into one of the public toilets in Torbay! Which brings me back to my exciting blog 🙂
How many toilets do you think there are across Torbay? I can tell you now you might be surprised by the answer.
Would you believe that there are a total of 18 public toilets which are open all year round in Torbay, but that is not all, there is then another 12 that are open during the summer months when it starts to get a lot busier around the bay! Thats quite a few public toilets, which made me think that must mean quite a bit of cleaning, who get thats wonderful job? Well don’t worry because I knew you were wondering that too…..I decided to go and find out!
Well of course that meant meeting up with my TOR2 pals, and this time it was the toilet team. I spent the day with these two happy chappys in the above photo. Now before you start to think it all falls on this pairs shoulders they are just two of the eight person team who between them work shifts so they can cover 7 days a week, 365 days a year!! Thanks team for keeping them clean and tidy incase we are ever caught short!!
So how does it work….Each toilet block is cleaned twice a day on a mobile round, meaning at least 36 toilet cleans are taking place in Torbay every single day. In the summer months when there are more public toilets open and things get a bit busier the 8 members of the mobile shift team are joined by 8 static cleaners who keep the busiest toilets clean and tidy!!
Meaning the rest of us can nip in and use the loo knowing it is nice and clean!!
I hope you enjoyed this weeks blog!!
Speak again soon.
