Waste and Recycling Update 20.07.18

July 20, 2018 Off By TOR2ltd

Torbay Council apologises for the delayed recycling collections that our Joint Venture Company TOR2 have missed in the previous months. A recovery plan has been implemented to catch up the outstanding rounds, so that collections can get back to the normal day as soon as possible.

TOR2 has deployed three refuse collection vehicles to pick up all recycling material except glass and food waste. The material in these vehicles will be mixed and then sent to a recycling plant to mechanically sort the materials so it all can be recycled. Food and glass will be collected by three recycling vehicles following the refuse vehicles which are collecting all other recyclables.

Please be assured that all material put out for recycling will be recycled. This method of collection will enable the outstanding rounds to be quickly caught up, so that normal collection days can be resumed in the following weeks. Please note, this method will only be used until TOR2 have caught up. Following this, normal recycling vehicles will again be fully deployed collecting all the recycling in one round. We thank you for your patience during this time.
