So what has been going on with all you lovely people this week? Well…I have been up to some exciting stuff, and for this blog I decided to do things differently and you bring you a photo blog….
Come and meet Fred and see what he gets up to during his day….
Fred is one of the street cleansing supervisors. With the teams heading out of the depot at 6am that means an early start for him at 5.15am (I didn’t even know the day had two 5 O’clocks 😛 ) He comes in at this time so that he can do his paperwork and check in the guys and girls ready to get them out. And all that is before 6am, sounds like a hard day to me.
Whilst I was out with Fred I met this lovely lady, Jenny. Who is the street orderly cleaning the area around St Marychurch, Torquay. Part of Fred’s role is to check in on the lone workers like Jenny, to make sure they made it to work okay and are doing alright. It is also a great chance for Fred to talk through any new paperwork and stuff that they may need to fill out.
Lets move on and see what happens next in the day in the life of a street cleansing supervisor, as part of his job it is now time to carry out some toilet inspections, always fun to do 🙂 Fred just has to check that they are open and nice and clean, and to make sure everything is in working order, don’t worry, he will fix what he can.
Back in the van and where are we off to next I hear you ponder, well let me tell you….another leg to what Fred does is checking complaints that have come in and fixing things where he can. For example, there was a wibbly wobbly bin down in Brixham, quick look at it by Fred, Bibbity, Bobbity, Boo and it was fixed!!
There are PLENTY more things that Fred will get up to in his day to day work, but I have just one more I want to share with you today. Part of what he does, when he is passing them, Fred checks to see how full the bottle banks are and if they need emptying. Thanks for checking 🙂
I hope you enjoyed looking at my first photo blog as much as I enjoyed making it?
Blog you soon…
