Food waste bins, Bottle banks, recycling boxes…there is just so many different ways that you can recycle stuff these days.
One of the ways is by heading down to the Torbay Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC) Tor Park Road, Paignton, TQ4 7PL where you can recycle your household items free of charge, how great is that?
If you are heading down, here are the opening times, but don’t forget that *last entry on to the site is 15 mins before the closing time, so make sure you get there with plenty of time. However the site is open 7 days a week including bank holidays, the only days they close are Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. So we can head down there to recycle anytime of year 🙂
Before you rush on down there though you may want to take a look at these, here are few things you need to be aware of when you are visiting the recycling centre:
- Cars are allowed into the recycling centre every day of the week, but only to recycle household items and garden waste.
- Vans are only allowed on Thursdays to bring recycling to the HWRC site and this is if it is your only form of transport and does not include logo’s vans or corporate signs.
- As this is a recycling centre household waste is limited to only 2 bags a day.
- The recycling centre is only for household items and garden waste from home therefore business waste is not allowed. Any vehicles that contain business waste will be directed to the transfer station where charges will apply.
We all know that the HWRC is a great place to bring your garden waste, but for a full list of what you can bring to be recycled just have a look below:
I hope you found this weeks blog helpful 🙂
